John Askey named Manager of the Year

John Askey was named manager of the year last night at the National Leagues gala awards evening.

The award was presented to John on the back of an incredible season in charge of National League champions Macclesfield Town.

He managed to guide the Silkmen to the title, topping the table by ten points, despite the off-field issues that plagued Macclesfield’s season behind the scenes.

Other winners on the night included Bernard Morley and Anthony Johnson for their work with Salford City in National League North, and Lee Bradbury for his season in charge of Havant & Waterlooville.

Awards were also presented to Torquay United, Brackley Town and St. Albans City to mark their efforts towards fair play and respect with The National League.
